Greetings readership! After a very busy 2009, I am sincerely looking forward to wearing myself out even more to dredge up some rare and exciting stock car racing history. While working with these statistics is honestly very tiring, I feel that I have already been rewarded in a sense both by the ever-growing list of our accomplishments and some kind feedback by a number of fans.
With 2009 behind us, we are pleased to announced what we will be working on in 2010!
Series We Will Continue To Cover[]
These series will have results added as soon as possible from the publication of official results:
- K & N Pro Series East
- Whelen Modified Tour
- Whelen Southern Modified Tour
- Canadian Tire Series
- Corona Mexico Series
- ASA Midwest Tour
- ASA Midwest Tour Sportsman
- ASA NorthWest Late Model Series
- ARCA West Mac's Series
- ARCA West OK Tire Sportsman (still working on getting the '09 results from ARCA West)
- PASS North Super Late Model
- PASS South Super Late Model
- PASS Sportsman
- PASS Trucks
- PASS Modifieds
- Rocky Mountain Challenge Series
- NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (expands to five divisions in 2010)
We also intend to cover the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour and ASA Southern Modifieds if these series manage to recover from the rough 2009 economic climate. However, it appears that both series are dead for now.
Series We Hope to Finish in 2010[]
NASCAR Local Racing PR has ensured me that I will be able to access the results to the remaining three Elite Division tour results this year. We finished the Midwest Series in October. Those series are:
- Southeast Series (1991-1996 results needed; we will also work on the old All Pro Series; see below)
- Southwest Series (1986-2000 results needed)
- Northwest Series (1985-1998 results needed)
- North Tour (1985 results were recently mailed to me; will put up ASAP)
- Whelen All-American Series (have been working on and off for about four months. Very tedious, so going is slow)
Series We NEED HELP WITH[]
Here's a list of some of the series we officially closed research on in 2009, but will gladly accept extra help with in 2010:
- Grand American (we only have about 46 out of 110 races with full results)
- Grand National East (three races missing with full results from 1973)
- Goody's Dash Series (1975-1996 full results needed. We only have about 25% full results from that time period)
- Grand American Stock Car (national championship race results from 1980-1983 needed)
- All-American Challenge Series (1984-1990 full results needed. Have about 30% of those races currently with full results)
- O'Reilly All-Star Series (need full results from 1985-2000)
- S.M.A.R.T. Modifieds (need full results 1989-1999)
Series We Will Start & (Hopefully) Finish in 2010[]
The big moment. Here is what we will be focusing on in 2010. Suggestions are accepted. Series organized by planned chronological upload period:
- ASA National Tour (1973-2004) - We hope to have 2003 and 2004 up before the year is technically out, but this will probably occupy a vast majority of the early winter for us.
- Champion Racing Association (CRA) - A surprising amount of history (aka a surprising amount of work to do). - Take a Look
- ARTGO - Became the NASCAR Midwest Series in 1998. Ran from 1975-1997.
- USAR - Started and finished the '08 and '09 seasons. Will continue to work backwards til completing the history in 1997.
- NASCAR National Modified Points - From 1948-1984, NASCAR ran their Modifieds on a local racing level, counting points in an unique points system from a combination of local races and prestigious National Championship races. Thanks to NASCAR, we now have the points from 1948-1984 and will begin adding them.
- Historical Stock Car Races - Oxford 250, Winchester 400, Snowball Derby, Cardinal 500, Dogwood 500, and All-American 400 off the top of my head.
- ARCA - lots missing before 1999. Might as well throw our hat in the ring.
- North Coast Challenge Series - StreetDreamer83 has been working hard to record the history of this low key tour that ran from 1991-2007. If you have any extra information about the series, please Contact Us!
- American-Canadian Tour (ACT) - The result of the old NASCAR North Tour. Ran a full-bodied stock car tour until 1995. Hope to work on that first, will transition to the current Late Model style series a later date.
- CASCAR - bought by NASCAR in 2006, became the Canadian Tire Series in '07. Started (I believe) in '91.
