Tyler Randal Gibbs (born October 4, 2002) is an American Professional driver in the Cup Series driving the No. 54 for Joe Gibbs Racing. Gibbs is the son of Coy Gibbs and the grandson of Joe Gibbs. Gibbs began racing in go karts on dirt tracks and asphalt in Mooresville, North Carolina. Gibbs ran in LATE Models from 2017-2019. Gibbs ran in the ARCA Menards East and West Series from 2019-2021 scoring 6 wins on the East side and 3 wins on the West side. He also ran part time in the ARCA Menards Series running 27 races and scoring 8 wins. He ran full time in 2021 where he scored 10 wins, 19 top fives, and 19 top tens and winning the Series championship. That same year he ran 18 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series where he scored 4 wins, 9 top fives, 10 top tens, a pole, and an average finish of 10th with his average start being 11.3. One being at Martinsville where he got into a fistfight with Sam Mayer. At the same track in the fall, Gibbs wrecked his teammate Brandon Jones for the win when Gibbs was already locked into the Championship 4 and Jones needed to win to advance. Despite all that, Gibbs scored 7 wins, 16 top fives, 23 top tens, an average finish of 9.2 and won the Series Championship. That same year he also made 15 NASCAR Cup Series starts for 23XI Racing in the No. 45 and 23 as he was filling in for an injured Kurt Busch. Gibbs scored one top 10 with an average finish of 22.9. Gibbs would go full-time in the Cup Series for Joe Gibbs Racing for 2023 as the team rebranded from the No. 18 to the No. 54 after Kyle Busch left to go to Richard Childress Racing. Gibbs scored zero wins, 4 top fives, 10 top tens, an average finish of 18.4 and finished 18th in the standings while winning rookie of the year.
