SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series that was created by Stephen Hillenburg. It premiered In the U.S. on May 1, 1999.
In 2004, SpongeBob sponsored the Busch Series race at Charlotte in October to promote The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, which released a month later. In 2015, SpongeBob returned to NASCAR; this time, however, they became the title sponsor for the Cup Series race at Kansas to promote the series' second movie, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. They also sponsored several cars in the race, including Greg Biffle and Casey Mears.
