Shane Robert van Gisbergen, nicknamed SVG among other mispronouncations, (born May 8, 1989) is an New Zealand stock car racing driver.
Before racing in NASCAR, Shane had made his name well-known across Australia, winning 3 championships in the Supercars series and becoming the fourth most successful driver in Supercars history. He has also won all 3 major events at Mount Panorama (the Bathurst 1000, Bathurst 6 Hour and Bathurst 12 Hour).
Cup Series career[]

On May 18, 2023, Trackhouse Racing Team announced that Shane would make his Cup Series debut at the Chicago Street Course, driving the #91 Enhance Health Chevrolet as part of the team's PROJECT91 program. Shane was fastest in practice by 3 tenths over Denny Hamlin and qualified 3rd. In the beginning of the race, Shane was inside the top 15, but was very quiet. However, as the laps wound down, Shane started to make his moves and eventually got to the front of the field, despite some challenges from Justin Haley. Shane became the first driver since Johnny Rutherford in 1963 to win a race in his Cup Series debut. Shane would make his 2nd career start a month later at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, finishing 10th. The last time a driver finished inside the top 10 in his first 2 Cup starts was Terry Labonte in 1978.

On September 13, 2023, Shane announced that he signed an agreement with Trackhouse Racing to run part-time in all 3 series in 2024.
Truck Series career[]

Shane made his Truck Series debut with Niece Motorsports in the 2023 TSport 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. Driving the #41 Worldwide Express Chevrolet, Shane qualified 28th and finished 19th in his oval debut.
