Lowe’s (also known as Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse) is an American retail company that specializes in home improvement. They are the second largest Home Improvement retailer in the United States, behind The Home Depot, but ahead of Menard's.
Cup Series History[]
In the Cup Series, Lowe’s sponsored Jimmy Pardue in 25 races in 1960. In 1995, Lowe’s sponsored Brett Bodine and the #11 Ford during Junior Johnson’s final season as an owner. Lowe’s stayed with Bodine after he purchased the #11 team in 1996, before moving to the Richard Childress Racing #31 team, with driver Mike Skinner. Lowe’s sponsored the #31 until the 2002 season, when they moved to the #48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy with driver Jimmie Johnson.
Lowe’s achieved most of its success in NASCAR during its time with Johnson. They sponsored Jimmie Johnson from his rookie season in 2002 through 2018, including all 7 of Johnson’s championship seasons, and all 83 of his wins (to date).
Xfinity Series History[]
In the Xfinity Series, Lowe’s sponsored the Hendrick Motorsports team from 2004 through 2008 with various drivers, most notably Kyle Busch, but also Jimmie Johnson and various others.
Other Sponsorship History[]
Lowe’s also purchased the naming rights to Charlotte Motor Speedway, and thus the track was known as Lowe’s Motor Speedway from 1999 through 2009.
