Liberty University, a private university located in Central Virginia, is a sponsor of NASCAR driver William Byron. Byron drives the Hendrick Motorsports #24 car and is completing a Liberty University Online business degree. Hendrick Motorsports partners with Liberty University in other ways as well, including engineering mentorship and sponsorship of various automotive clubs and partnership with Liberty's Business Administration program focusing on automotive dealership. Several members of the Hendrick Motorsports team, including founder Rick Hendrick, have addressed the University's student body during its thrice-weekly gathering called Convocation.
