Larry Manning, born October 4, 1942 Home: Salisbury, NC. He competed in seventy-one Nextel Cup Series events in his career, all spanning from 1963 to 1974.
Manning never competed in a full season, as his most active was making 23 starts in his rookie year of 1963. That year he earned a 10th place finish in his debut at Orange Speedway, one of the fourteen top-tens he would earn in his career. After nine top-tens in the year, Manning finished a career best 29th in points.
Manning never was able to match his potential through the rest of his career, however. He only earned 5 top-tens follwoing 1963. That did include a career best 4th at Manasssas in 1966, matching a 4th place earned at South Boston Speedway in 1963.
Following four fruitless seasons following the 1966 outings, Manning retried following a 39th place finish at Dover in 1971.
