Jim Robinson (January 28, 1946 - December 28, 1995) was a NASCAR driver from North Hollywood, CA. He competed in twenty-one Sprint Cup Series events in his career, racing solely at Riverside and Ontario from 1979 to 1987. Robinson used his expertise at these tracks to record two top-tens: a 6th and a 10th at Riverside in 1981.

A truly exceptional driver who raced all over the west coast in the number 78, most notably at Saugus Speedway located in the Santa Clarita Valley of Southern California. Robinson was severely injured in a crash at Phoenix International Raceway. He sustained severe head trauma when his helmet came in contact with the retaining wall during a spin. He passed away many years later while in and out of a coma.
