The Grant Park 165 is a 75-lap, 165-mile (265.542 km) NASCAR Cup Series race held annually at the Chicago Street Course in Chicago, Illinois. It is the first ever Cup Series race to be held on a street course. The race is named after Grant Park, a park located on the infield of the street course.
The race was first announced on July 19, 2022 by Ben Kennedy. It was also revealed that the race would replace Road America's lone race on the schedule. The first ever running of the race in 2023 was shrouded in doubt by the fans, since the weekend of the race had been disastrous due to weather. However, the race ended up being what many fans consider to be one of the best races of the season. Shane van Gisbergen, an Australian driver who was making his Cup Series debut, fought off Justin Haley among others and grabbed the win. In October of 2023, it was announced that the race would be shortened from 220 miles (100 miles) to 165 miles (75 laps) beginning in 2024.
