Gordon Smith is a former NASCAR driver from Enfield, NC. He competed in fifteen Nextel Cup Series event in his career, earning two top-tens.
All of those races came in 1955, when Smith debuted at Martinsville. Starting 20th in the race, Smith had early wheel issues and finished 21st. Mechanical issues seemed to be his theme of the year, as Smith failed to finish nine of his fifteen starts. But when he finished the event, he finished in the top-21 every time. This was bested by a 6th at Bowman-Gray and a 7th at Weaverville, his only two top-tens. Despite a part-time schedule and DNF issues, Smith finished 30th in points but never raced again.
