George Brunnhoelzl, III (October 28, 1982 - ) is a Modified driver from West Babylon, NY. Despite his strong racing family upbringings in the North, Brunnhoelzl has made a name for himself in the South.
Brunnhoelzl's career can essentially be divided into three parts. There were a few years where he tried his hand at the ultra-competitive Northern Modified scene, but found little success. After moving down South to work for his family business, Brunnhoelzl became a full-time competitor on a few racing circuits, notably the S.M.A.R.T. and USAR tours. However, he never found much success there. However, a huge shift in success came in early 2008 when, a year after his rookie year on the Whelen Southern Modified Tour, Brunnhoelzl began to put together consistent finishes and started his first truely successful chapter in racing.
After winning his first NASCAR Southern Modified race at Lanier in '08, Brunnhoelzl broke out in '09, winning five times and finishing in the top-five in all but one race. He easily claimed the championship over Andy Seuss. Just as important, it was the first NASCAR championship in the history of his proud racing family.
