Gary Johnson (May 12, 1940 - ) is a former NASCAR driver from Modesto, CA. He competed in four Sprint Cup Series events in his career.
Johnson's debut came in 1976, when he competed at Riverside. Starting 21st in the field of thirty-five, Johnson didn't even last half of the race before an engine failure doomed him to 29th.
Johnson had a two race schedule in 1977, which provided mixed results. He started off the year well enough, recording a career-best 20th place finish in the January Riverside event. But in the June Riverside race he again struggled, finishing 29th after another engine issue.
Johnson's final race came in 1978, not surprisingly racing at Riverside. Starting 14th in the field, Johnson didn't even get to finish the fourth lap as a rear end gear issue sidelined Johnson to last place (35th).
