G.C. Spencer, born July 9, 1925 is a former NASCAR driver from Jonesboro, TN. Along with Elmo Langley, Spencer became the face of journeymen drivers during the sport's early days, making the most of what he had. Between 1958 and 1977, Spencer recorded 415 starts, but never a win. However, Spencer earned 55 top-fives, 138 top-tens and one pole.

Spencer's best year when it came to points was a 4th place effort in the 1965 season, earning 25 top-tens in forty-seven starts. He earned his only pole at Hickory Speedway, where he led 20 laps and finished 3rd. Spencer better that finish with three second place finishes in 1965, including finishing a record 22 laps behind the race winner at Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds. Spencer would earn second place finishes in 1963 (Hickory Speedway) and three in 1966, though in reality Spencer was never in true contention. He would finish many laps behind the leader.

Finally, by the 1970's, Spencer's small team fell behind. Between 1972 and 1977, Spencer would only earn five top-tens. Finally, in 1977, Spencer made his last start, finishing 25th at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
