Doug Cooper, born September 9, 1938 was a NASCAR driver from Gastonia, NC. He competed in 114 Sprint Cup Series events in his career prior to his death on September 3, 1987.
Cooper never competed in a full season of competition, seeing as he only earned a career best 19th place in the 1965 season. However, Cooper still earned eleven top-fives and twenty-nine top tens, which made for a respectable career. His best career finish was third place, a position he earned three times.
Following a decent year in 1967, Cooper made one start in 1968, a 27th place at Bristol, before retiring from the Cup circuit.
