The Daytona 500 Experience, formerly known as Daytona USA, is an interactive motorsports attraction located at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Daytona 500 Experience opened in July 1996.
Exhibits[]
Visitors are able to commentate the end of a famous NASCAR race in the Speed Channel "You call the race" exhibit, experience an IMAX theater, "race" in the Acceleration Alley racing simulator, and various other simulators such as EA Sports NASCAR Thunder.
For an additional purchase, fans are also able to take a lap around the track on a tram "at a blistering 15 miles per hour", visit the garage area, and stand in victory lane.
Daytona 500 connection[]
The winning car from the Daytona 500 is displayed for the next year at the Daytona 500 Experience, and removed on the day of the next year's Daytona 500 so that a new car can be inducted. Also on display are the NASCAR Sprint/Nextel/Winston Cup championship trophy and the Harley J. Earl Trophy (Daytona 500 Winner has name inscribed on it).
