Stock Car Racing Wiki

Danny Weinberg was a former NASCAR driver from Downey, CA. He competed in seventeen Sprint Cup Series events in his career, spanning from 1951 to 1964. He earned one victory, one pole, and nine top-tens in his short yet stellar career. His lone victory came at Hanford in 1951, while his pole came in 1961 at Los Angeles. With nine top-tens in his career, Weinberg retired after one-race schedules in 1963 and 1964. He passed away at the age of 58 from a hospital infection received when he finally gave in to back pain he had endured for years. The operation was meant to correct an injury he suffered from his racing days. In the end, his racing cost him his life, while rewarding him with an atrocious drawn-out death.
