The Brickyard 400 presented by PPG is an annual 400 lap NASCAR Cup Series race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana. The race began in 1994, Jeff Gordon was the inaugural winner of the Brickyard 400.

Ever since the inaugural running of the event in 1994, the race has been heralded by NASCAR fans as one of the "crown jewel" events of the season, due to the history of IMS. Many companies co-sponsored the event, such as Allstate and Big Machine Records.

However, the legacy of the event was tainted in the 2008 running of the Brickyard 400, in which many drivers suffered from tire failures throughout the day to the point where NASCAR was forced to throw cautions every 10 laps. Since then, attendance for the race had declined significantly and many fans grew resentment over the race. After 2020, the Brickyard 400 was held on the road course of Indianapolis and the race was renamed to the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. The first 2 Cup races on the Indy road course were extremely chaotic, and fans were split as to whether they liked it or not. After 2023, the race was held on the oval once again and was renamed back to the Brickyard 400.
