I have come up with a comprehensive plan to clean up Stock Car Racing Wiki. I will personally follow the provided guidelines below. You do not have to follow the guidelines, but it would greatly speed up the rebuild process:
- 1. Update and make articles relating to 2014 and 2015 seasons
- 2. Create articles on all current missing information, including sponsors, races, and drivers.
- 3A. Clean up pages already on SCRW, such as updating information.
- 3B. Create Wikipedia redirects in articles for links to articles that do not exist on SCRW. If you plan to create the article in the near future, you do not have to make a Wikipedia redirect.
The are PERSONAL guidelines. You do not have to use them at all. I am just putting them out as a reference point.

NASCAR has announced that they are close to formulating a deal with the company Crown Royal to sponsor the Brickyard 400 beginning in 2012. Crown Royal has already announced that at the end of the season they will cease their sponsorship of Matt Kenseth and his number 17 car.
The Brickyard last year went unsponsored after the deal with Allstate ended in 2009. If the deal is signed, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway would earn $1.5 million dollars. It is expected that this sponsorship might be announced at this year's race which takes place on Sunday.

Legendary driver Ned Jarrett, who is head of the legendary Jarrett family of racing which includes Dale Jarrett, Glenn Jarrett, and Jason Jarrett, was recently selected as a member of the 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame Class. He was selected along with Bobby Allison, Bud Moore, David Pearson, and Lee Petty.
The UPS team has decided to honor Jarrett by using a car based on his 1965 championship-winning Ford Galaxie. The car will be driven by current driver David Ragan at the upcoming Brickyard 400. The car will also feature retro white wheels with the UPS logo until the team's first pit stop.

I haven't agreed with every decision that NASCAR has made recently. I'm not a big proponent of the Chase, nor am I that happy about the "wave around" option for the double file restarts. But the new change in starting times for 2010 is certainly a great move.
I remember just a few years ago, watching the Daytona 500 pre-race show starting at around noon and the race starting around 1 pm. The end of the race wasn't as perfectly staged as those of previous years but think about this years race.
If this year's Daytona 500 had been started at 1:15 or so instead of 3:15, then the race quite possibly would've been completed by the end of the day and a driver more deserving than Matt Kenseth would've won the race. (I'm not saying Matt Kenseth isn't…Read more >

So this weeks set of races was quite interesting in the very least (well the accidents were anyway) and there are many things that I learned by watching.
The NCWTS race was decent. The series is so watered down that there are only around 15 trucks that are actually competitive enough to stay on the lead lap by lap 50. The race started off well--there was some pretty good racing for awhile for the first few spots. And then when it started to spread out things went sour. SPEED's coverage is pretty bad at looking past the leaders and covering battles of trucks that are out of the top 10. I was surprised how long Rick Crawford stayed in the lead when he eventually went down a lap later in the race. I feel bad for Ricky Carmichael for giving up …Read more >
So I have noticed on many NASCAR web sites that "insiders" have placed New Hampshire Motor Speedway on their list of races to kick out of the Chase.
Last week, the track had a sell-out, which in these tough economic times is definitely difficult to do. No, the race wasn't absolutely exciting, but what race is? I found the roung of green flag pit stops with about 50 laps to go last week was really entertaining and interesting. However, the double file restarts really screwed second place and discouraged battling for the lead. This really made the end seem anti-climactic.

While competition at the highest levels of NASCAR continue to suffer both from the poor economic climate and the infamous Car of Tomorrow, this year's championship battles down at the NASCAR Touring echelon continue to thrill followers and draw large crowds to local tracks. This high level of competition has kept many of these NASCAR series healthy during a period of time where lower-level sports organizations go on hiatus or close altogether.
Today, I'm going to review these exciting battles and predict a winner for each series title. Since 2003, at least one NASCAR Touring title has been determined by less than ten points. If you're a supporter of local racing, send a message and go to the final few races of these series.

I know a lot of people over the last few years have really dogged Michael Waltrip about his inability to perform on the track. True, Michael was never the most successful driver and has not even been a remote threat since leaving Dale Earnhardt, Inc.. But watching today while Martin Truex, Jr. was announced to take the #56 ride while Michael settles into semi-retirement, I began to truly appreciate what Waltrip has done over the last five years.

I was unable to make the trip to Sonoma this weekend, but it was great fun to watch the West Series race as it happened on Racing West (check out their weekend photos by the way). But it ended awfully - Patrick Long and Joey Logano made contact coming out of Turn 11. Logano spun, Long was penalized, and Jason Bowles was declared the winner.
I am constantly amazed at the amount of similiar finishes we see in the Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series. I have felt, considering the road course races in the last three years in the series, that bump-and-runs and chrome horns are more common on road courses than on today's short tracks.
