The 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series is the 44th season of the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The season began with the United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway on February 15 and will end with the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway on November 1.
The season is notable for being the first season where The CW is the exclusive broadcaster of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, under a new TV deal that will last until 2031. It will also be the final season that Xfinity sponsors the series.
Rule Changes[]
There were several rules changes announced for the 2025 season:
Practice & Qualifying[]
- Group Practice is now 25 minutes.
- Single Round Qualifying at every track except superspeedways. Most tracks (1 mile or more) will feature 1 lap of qualifying. Short tracks (1 mile or less) will feature 2 laps. Superspeedways (Atlanta, Daytona, Talladega), will feature 1 lap, but 2 rounds with the fastest 10 cars in the first round moving to the final round. Road Courses will feature a 20 minute qualifying for Group 1 and 2, with multiple cars on track in 1 round of qualifying.
Penalties[]
- If a playoff waiver is granted for missing a race, the driver will forfeit all current and future playoff points and will start the playoffs with a maximum of 2000 points. Exceptions to the forfeit includes medical reason and age restrictions.
- Verbiage around the 100% rule is replaced with a focus on 'manipulating' the outcome of an event/championship.
- Rules violations by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) may result in a loss of manufacturer points, and/or loss of wind tunnel hours, and/or loss of RCFD runs. Penalties will be assessed for violation of the Vehicle Testing Policy, wind tunnel policy, event roster and Code of Conduct policy.
- All suspensions that are a result of a technical penalty can be deferred without appeal for the next race following the issuance of a penalty. All other suspensions are effective immediately.
Points System[]
- 1 point will be awarded to the team and driver with the fastest single recorded lap (The Xfinity Fastest Lap) each race.
Xfinity Dash 4 Cash[]
- The Spring Race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will serve as the qualifier for the first Dash 4 Cash race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The remaining races are at Martinsville, Bristol and Rockingham.
