The 2016 Sprint Cup Series was the 68th season of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The season began with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on February 21 and ended with the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20.

It was the final season for three-time Cup champion Tony Stewart as well as Brian Scott, Carl Edwards, and Josh Wise. It was also the final season for Sprint as title sponsor.
