The 2007 Goody's Cool Orange 500 was a Nextel Cup (now Sprint Cup) event held at Martinsville on April 1, 2007. Jimmie Johnson took the lead with nearly one hundred to go, and then held off a ferocious charge by teammate Jeff Gordon for the victory. Gordon, being a loyal teammate, did not race Johnson as hard as he might have someone else and fell just a little short. But Gordon was still in the points lead, now 28 markers ahead of Jeff Burton (6th). Stats
