The 2006 Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 was a Nextel Cup event held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on October 29, 2006. Tony Stewart won the event in dominating fashion, leading 146 laps and holding off Jimmie Johnson by 1.2 seconds. Johnson, meanwhile, continued his points rally, closing to within 26 points of Matt Kenseth (4th). Stats
