The 2005 Subway 500 was a Nextel Cup event held at Martinsville Speedway on October 3, 2005. It was the sixth race of the Chase for the Nextel Cup. Jeff Gordon grabbed the lead late and held off a charge by Tony Stewart for Gordon's fourth and final victory of the year.
