The 2005 Auto Club 500 was a Nextel Cup Series event held at California Speedway on February 27, 2005. Greg Biffle said his car was so good that it would "take the lead by lap 5." Biffle took the lead on lap four and wound up winning the race, holding off a stunning last-lap charge by Jimmie Johnson.
