The 2003 Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 was a Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup) event held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 9, 2003. Bobby Labonte, who led 172 of the 325 laps had the dominant car all day. But Jeff Gordon made a daring restart move late that forced Labonte to regroup. Labonte did in fact recover, and with six laps to go made a daring pass of his own on Gordon n route to victory. Points leader Matt Kenseth finished 4th and held a 49-point edge on Tony Stewart (5th). Stats
