The 2001 NAPA 500 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on November 18, 2001. Jerry Nadeau appeared to have the race in hand, but on the last lap unexpectedly ran out of fuel. Bobby Labonte got by the coasting Nadeau just before the start-finish line for the victory. Nadeau finished 4th. Meanwhile, Nadeau's teammate and points leader Jeff Gordon finished 6th and clinched his fourth championship with one race to go. Stats
