The 2000 NAPA Auto Parts 500 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at California Speedway on April 30, 2000. Jeremy Mayfield won his first race of the year, despite a fuel scandal still hanging over his head from Talladega. Remarkably, more technical violations were found from his car following the event. Still, Mayfield got to keep his three-tenths of a second victory on Bobby Labonte. Labonte, meanwhile, reclaimed the points lead by twenty markers on Mark Martin (14th). Stats
