The 1999 Cracker Barrel 500 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 14, 1999. Four races into the year, Jeff Gordon had his second victory after leading the most laps and holding off Bobby Labonte by 2.5 seconds. Mike Skinner led a good portion of the race before finishing 6th and now held a 32-point championship lead on Labonte. The race started during the daytime but ended at night after a long rain delay.
