The 1997 TranSouth Financial 400 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Darlington Speedway on March 23, 1997. Dale Jarrett won his second straight race in dominating fashion, leading 171 of the 293 laps and holding off Ted Musgrave to the line for the victory.
