The 1997 NAPA 500 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on November 16, 1997. It was the season finale. Bobby Labonte won his only race of the year, holding off Dale Jarrett by 3.8 seconds. Jeff Gordon finished 17th, just enough to win the championship by 14 markers over Jarrett. Stats
