The 1986 Wrangler Jeans Indigo 400 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at Richmond International Raceway on September 7, 1986. Tim Richmond grabbed the lead late but still managed to win his fifth race in the last eight events, holding off Dale Earnhardt by two carlengths.
