The 1980 Virginia 500 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Martinsville Speedway on April 27, 1980. Darrell Waltrip dominated the weekend, winning the pole, leading 303 of 500 laps and holding off Benny Parsons for victory. Waltrip moved into second place in the points race, trailing Dale Earnhardt (13th) by sixty-one markers.
