The 1976 Capital City 400 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup Series) event held at Richmond International Raceway on September 12, 1976. Cale Yarborough dominated the event, leading 216 of 400 laps, but had to hold off Bobby Allison by one carlength for the win. Yarborough now expanded his points lead on Richard Petty (3rd) to forty-four markers. Stats
