The 1974 Capital City 500 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Richmond International Raceway on September 8, 1974. Richard Petty, the eventual season champ, dominated by leading 383 of the 500 laps in route to a half-lap victory on Benny Parsons. Stats
