The 1966 Southeastern 500 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 20, 1966. Dick Hutcherson won his first race of the year in dominating fashion, leading 125 of the 400 laps in route to a four-lap crushing on Paul Lewis and the rest of the field. Eventual season champ David Pearson dominated much of the event before engine woes left him 15th.
