The 1965 Capital City 300 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Richmond International Raceway on September 18, 1965. David Pearson won his second and final race of the year, leading 122 of the 300 laps as he pulled away to a one-lap victory on Darel Dieringer.
