The 1961 Rebel 300 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Darlington Speedway on May 6, 1961. Fred Lorenzen led 69 of the 219 laps and edged out Curtis Turner by six carlengths for the victory. Eventual season champ Ned Jarrett finished 10th. Stats
