The 1961 Atlanta 500 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 26, 1961. Bob Burdick won his only career race, taking the lead late and holding Rex White at bay before a caution clinched Burdick's victory. Eventual season champ Ned Jarrett finished 5th. Stats
