The 1957-44 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) - Pacific Coast Late Model Series (now Camping World West Series) combination event held at Santa Clara Fairgrounds on September 15, 1957. It was the PCLMS season finale. Marvin Porter held a slight advantage on Eddie Pagan when the race was called due to a large multi-car accident. Porter inherited the win, his first career triumph. Many of the sport's elite drivers, including eventual GN season champ Buck Baker, did not compete in the west coast event. It was no matter to Lloyd Dane, who won his third series championship.
