The 1956-51 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) held at Newport Speedway on October 7, 1956. Buck Baker, eventual season champion, led the first 149 laps, but it was Fireball Roberts in charge of the last 51, holding off Baker for Roberts' fifth and final win of the year. Stats
