The 1956-28 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) - Pacific Coast Late Model Series (now West Series) combination event held at Portland Speedway on June 24, 1956. John Kieper held off Clyde Palmer in a close finish for the victory, Kieper's only NASCAR victory. Eventual Cup season champ Buck Baker did not compete in the event. Stats
