The 1955-18 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Forsyth County Fairgrounds on May 29, 1955. Lee Petty watched leader Fonty Flock and Buck Baker have mechanical problems and then took advantage, taking over the lead late in route to a half-lap victory over Jim Paschal. Eventual season champ Tim Flock also had a good run going before mechanical issues of his own, finishing 20th after oil pressure issues. Stats
