The 1951 Grand National Series was the 3rd season of the NASCAR Grand National Series. The season began at Daytona Beach on February 11 and ended at New Mobile Speedway on November 25. The season featured 41 races, with Herb Thomas winning the championship with 7 wins, the majority of which came after switching to a “Fabulous Hudson Hornet” midseason. The season was dominated by the battle between Hudson and Oldsmobile. Hudson would score 12 wins while Oldsmobile would score 20.
