The 1950-01 was a Grand National (now Monster Energy Cup) event held at Daytona Beach Road Course on February 5, 1950. It was the season opener. Harold Kite dominated the race in just his first career start, leading 38 of the 48 laps in route to a 53-second victory on Red Byron.
