The 1949 Strictly Stock Series was the inaugural season of the NASCAR Strictly Stock Series. The season began with 1949-01 at Charlotte Speedway on June 19 and ended with the Wilkes 200 at North Wilkesboro Speedway on October 16. The season was 8 races long, with Red Byron becoming the first ever champion (in the No. 22-Oldsmobile) with 842 points and Lee Petty finishing second with 725 points.
